Representing Numerical Data QUIZ

Due Date April 12, 2018 – Thursday

Displaying 3 different types of graphs: Dot Plots, Histograms, and Stem-and-Leaf Plots.

You can only use each type of graph once in one of the 3 ways listed below.

1. Look up an already existing graph of one of the previously mentioned types.  Write at least 2 complete sentences describing the information found in your graph and what your graph represents.  

2. Use statistics found online such as sports statistics to create one of the previously mentioned types of graphs. You must have at least 10 data points in your graph. There are a few websites you might want to look at listed below.  WARNING! DO NOT spend your entire time on this section!

*Note – If you’re looking for a specific team or college the best way to find stats for them is to go straight to their specific sports website.

3. Create your own graph based on a survey question you ask at least 15 other people.  You must show proof of the people’s responses such as with sheets of paper or an online survey.  You also must use a frequency table to help you collect your data. Make sure to label your graph to appropriately present your information.
