About Me

Howdy! I’m Shelby Broussard, and this is my 12th year teaching at White Oak Middle School. I’m so excited for what’s ahead this school year! In addition to teaching, I’m also serving as the WOMS UIL Coordinator, which means I get to help organize and support all of our academic competition teams.

This year, I’ll be teaching three classes I absolutely love:

  • 7th Grade Advanced Math – a fast-paced, challenging class where we tackle math concepts that stretch thinking and prepare students for high school.

  • Computer/Technology – a hands-on class where students build their skills in typing, coding, digital literacy, and problem-solving with technology.

  • Math/Science Team (TMSCA) – a competitive prep class where students sharpen their skills for contests in Number Sense, Calculator, Math, and Science.

I grew up in Kilgore, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a specialization in 4–8 Grade Math/Science. Teaching is my passion, and I can’t wait to see what my students accomplish this year—whether it’s mastering a tricky math problem, learning a new tech skill, or winning a medal at a competition.
